Four Teams that can bid for Mitchell Starc in IPL Auction
Kings XI Punjab:
Last season, Kings XI Punjab had a good season with bat as KL Rahul finished as leading run-scorer. Other KXIP batsmen like Mayank Aggarwal, Chris Gayle, and Nichols Pooran have also performed well. However, they lost most matches due to their bowling in slog overs. KXIP has released most of their overseas bowlers like Sheldon Cottrell, Jimmy Neesham, Mujeeb ur Rahman. Mitchell Starc will be the ideal choice as KXIP has the remaining purse of ₹53.2 crores and has a void left in the pace attack.
Royal Challengers Bangalore:
Though Royal Challengers Bangalore has good last season as they manage to make way to the Playoffs. RCB has released most pacers( Chris Morris, Umesh Yadav, and Dale Steyn made himself unavailable) of their squad. RCB has the money and they will run after Mitchell Starc.
RR finished at the bottom of the table in IPL 2020. Rajasthan Royal has released Star Batsman Steve Smith which creates a permanent overseas slot in their playing XI and has enough money in their purse to bid for Starc in IPL Auction. RR pace attack with the likes of Jofra Archer, Starc, and Tyagi can do wonders if RR manages to grab Starc.
Though Mumbai Indians has one of the best balancing squad among in all the eight-team and most successful IPL side also. However, They would like to improve in one area that is death bowling. MI has released all of their overseas pacers except Trent Boult ahead of IPL 2021 Auction. Mitchell Starc will be the perfect choice for Mumbai based Franchise.
