Indian Cricket Team’s morale will be high after a historical win at Melbourne Cricket Ground in the 2nd Test of Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Team India registered a memorial win in the last test after the heavy defeat in the series-opening Match. The Indian team lost their first test by 8 wickets after a poor display of batting in the 2nd inning of the match. Experts around the world criticized India’s batting in the 1st Test of the series.

Before the 2nd Test, the Indian Team lost key players Virat Kohli and Mohammed Shami from the lineup. Virat Kohli returned to India. While Mohammed Shami was ruled out of the Test series due to injury.
However, the Indian Team defied all the odds and beat Australia in the 2nd Test under the captaincy of Ajinkya Rahane. Ajinkya Rahane who was criticized by fans for runout with Virat Kohli in the 1st Test rose to the occasion and delivered with the bat. Ajinkya Rahane scored a brilliant century in the first inning of the Boxing Day Test Match. Cricket experts were also impressed with his leadership in the 2nd Test. Team India chance to reach on the Top
The Indian team will claim the top spot after winning the remaining two matches. New Zealand is currently No.1 in ICC Test Ranking. India 3-1 win will be enough to leapfrog Black Caps to reach on No.1 spot. If India ends the series with a 2-1 win, they will need some favor from Pakistan who is currently playing a Test series with New Zealand. In fact, team India can retain the Border- Gavaskar trophy even if they win one of the remaining two Tests or draw both of them.
