Sunrisers Hyderabad beat Punjab Kings compressively by nine wickets. Today was not a good day for Punjab on the field. However, there was a moment when Allen picked the wicket of Warner and was looking to back in the game. But Kane and Bairstow batted superbly to take their team home. Sunrisers Hyderabad Impressive Bowling
PBKS elected to bat first after winning the toss. PBKS did not get the ideal start as they lost KL Rahul on 4. Rahul attempted to broke the shackles. However, he only managed to slug the ball bowled by Bhuvneshwar straight to Kedar Jadhav who was at mid-wicket. Punjab Kings scored 32 runs in their powerplay. Mayank Aggarwal who was looking good failed to convert his start as he departed on 22 runs. Khaleel Ahmed picked the wicket of Mayank. On the next ball, Nicholas Pooran got run-out by a direct hit by David Warner. This was the third duck for Pooran in this IPL season.
Rashid Khan took the big wicket of Chris Gayle in his first over. The ball thrust on Gayle’s pad and he scored 15 runs. Deepak Hooda plumb lbw out on Abhishek’s bowl. Hooda made 14 runs. Henriques played some good shots before stumping out on 14 runs. Debut Fabian Allen scored 6 runs in his first IPL match. Khaleel Ahmed picked the wicket of Allen. PBKS lost wickets at regular intervals. Apart from Shahrukh Khan, none of the Punjab Kings’ batsmen looked comfortable on this wicket. Sunrisers Hyderabad restricted PBKS on 120. Khaleel Ahmed picked three wickets.
SRH Chase down the Target easily
Sunrisers Hyderabad off to a good start thanks to some dynamic hitting from SRH’s openers. David Warner once again leads the team from the front. David Warner and Johnny Bairstow added 73 runs before David Warner was dismissed on 37 runs. Warner attempted to put a shorter delivery from Fabian Allen into the stands. But holed out to mid-wicket. Kane Williamson who was playing his first game this season joins hands with Johnny Bairstow and ensures that no more wickets fall. SRH chased down the target in 18.4 over thanks to Johnny Bairstow’s unbeaten inning of 63 runs off 53 balls.
