The Indian Women Team Captain Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss and elected to bowl first in the rain-affected match. England off to a flying start as they added 48 runs without losing a wicket in the powerplay. Radha Yadav produced the first breakthrough for India as she dismissed Daniel Wyatt for 31 runs. England lost their second opener Beaumont in the 9th over of the match. England captain Heather Knight got out cheaply.

After that, Natalie Sciver along with Amy Jones added 78 runs for the 4th wicket. Natalie Sciver smashed the fastest fifty for England as she scored 55 runs off 27 balls with the help of 8 four and 1 six. Harleen Deol fielding removed Amy Jones. England posted a total of 177 runs in their 20 overs. In reply, India did not get the ideal start as Shafali Verma got out on a duck. Brunt took the wicket of Verma and the battle between Shafali and Brunt keeps getting better and better.
