India wins the 2nd T20 of five-match T20 series by 7 wickets. While chasing the target of 165 runs in Ind vs. Eng 2nd T20, Indian captain Virat Kohli and Ishan Kishan scored fifty. India chases down the target easily courtesy to Virat Kohli, Ishan Kishan, and Rishabh Pant innings and level the series 1-1.

Virat Kohli reached the mark of 12000 runs in International cricket in Ind vs. Eng 2nd T20. Virat became the first Indian captain to reach this landmark and overall on the third spot after Ricky Ponting and Graeme Smith. Ricky Ponting scored 15440 runs as captain in International Cricket. He also became the first player to complete 3000 runs in T20.

Summary of Ind vs Eng 2nd T20

Indian captain Virat Kohli won the toss and elected to bowl first in Ind vs Eng 2nd T20. India made two changes as Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan made their debut for India in place of Axar Patel and Shikar Dhawan. While England made one change as Tom Curran comes in place of Mark Wood. Bhuvneshwar Kumar who was making comeback in cricket through this T20 series strikes on the 3rd ball of the first over as he dismissed Jos Buttler on a duck. Bhuvneshwas wrapped the ball straight onto Jos Buttler’s pads. After that Jason Roy and Dawid Malan ensured that no more wicket fell at the end of powerplay and England was at 44/1 in their 6 overs.

Jason Roy and Dawid Malan added 63 runs before Yuzvendra Chahal strikes by dismissing Dawid Malan LBW. Malan scored 24 runs. However, Jason Roy who scored 49 runs in the previous T20, once again took on the Indian bowling attack. Washington Sundar got his first wicket of the match in the form of Jason Roy who scored 46 runs off 35 balls. Jason went for a big slog on a juicy half-tracker from Washington. However, he failed to connect the ball well and found the fielder at the deep square leg. Bhuvi who was at deep square leg took the diving catch.

Johnny Bairstow who batted superbly in 1st T20 did not contribute much as he got out on 20 runs. Washington picked the wicket of Bairstow. Soon after Shardul Thakur picked his first wicket as he deceived England captain Eoin Morgan with a slower ball and the ball found the thick edge of Morgan’s bat. The ball lobbed straight up and Rishabh pants took the simple catch.

England managed to reach a total of 164 runs with Jason Roy was the top performer from England. Washington Sundar and Shardul Thakur took two wickets each. India did not get a good start and lost their first wicket in 1st over like England. K L Rahul once again failed to deliver and got out on a duck. Sam Curran found the edge of Rahul’s bat on an outswinger delivery.

After that, debutant Ishan Kishan and Virat Kohli played with aggressive intent and took the team’s total to 50/1 at the end of the powerplay. Ishan Kishan and Virat Kohli added 94 runs before Ishan got out while trying to play a reverse sweep on Rashid’s bowl. He scored maiden fifty in his debut match and become the second Indian player after Rahane who had scored 61 runs on debut in 2011. He scored 56 runs off 32 balls with the help of 4 sixes and 5 fours.

Rishabh Pant carried his form from the Test series as he smashed quick-fire 26 runs off 13 balls with 2 sixes and 2 four. Virat Kohli played a match-winning inning of 73 runs off 49 balls and won the IND vs ENG 2nd t20 with seven wickets in hand.(source)
