Mohammed Shami, Bumrah Receive Grand Welcome in IND vs ENG 2nd Test

When the England team came on the field on Day 5 of Ind vs Eng 2nd Test match, they must have thought that by getting Rishabh Pant out, they would have a chance to win this match. But, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami have other plans. When India needed a partnership, the two Indian Pacers put up a batting exhibition at Lord. The two batted superbly and added 89* partnership. They both remain not out as India declared their inning on 298 for 8 and set a target of 272 runs for England.

Mohammed Shami scored a sensational half-century and Jasprit Bumrah added well compiled 34 runs. After the incredible effort by these two, they received a warm welcome from the entire Indian team at the end of 1st session of Day 5 of the Ind vs. Eng 2nd Test match. Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami dismantle the English Bowlers

Earlier, India resumed Day 5 of Ind vs. Eng 2nd Test at 181 for 6. Rishabh Pant who was the last recognized Indian batsman played some big shots and shielded Ishant against the new ball by farming strike. However, Ollie Robinson found the edge of Rishabh Pant’s bat and hurt the hopes of Indian fans. Pant scored 22 runs. After the departure of Pant, Ishant Sharma started swinging around and added 16 runs before Robinson dismissed him with a slow bowl.

When Jasprit Bumrah came out to bat, India reeling at 209/8 having a lead of 182 runs. England team upped the heat against Bumrah and Shami with some bouncers and words. Jasprit Bumrah took back on them with a tough face and with his batting also. Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah dented their party as they were not shy of scoring boundaries. Indian captain Virat Kohli animated with every boundary. Every English bowler was taken to cleaners as they were on song.

After a few overs, after lunch, India declared their inning. The host needed 272 runs to win the test match.

IND vs ENG 2nd Test: Indian bowlers Shines

After all the action that happened in the morning session between Shami-Bumrah and England players, Virat Kohli and his boys were fired up. Virat gave them a proper pep talk when the England batsman came out to bat. After the splendid batting by the duo Indian pacers, the two lead the Indian attack as both picked a wicket in their first over. Jasprit Bumrah removed Rory Burns. While Mohammed Shami found the outside edge of Dom Sibley’s bat. This was the first instance where both the English openers got out on a duck against India.

Joe Root along with Haseeb Hameed tried to rescue the English inning. But, Ishant Sharma broke the partnership in his first over as he removed Hameed on 9. Johnny Bairstow who looked in control got out on the last ball before lunch. Ishant Sharma picked the wicket of Johnny Bairstow.

Bumrah got the big fish in the form of Joe Root just after the Tea break. Bumrah bowled a length delivery outside off and forced Joe Root to play the shot and induced an outside edge.
