Chennai Super Kings is back on track after a comprehensive win over Punjab Kings in Wankhede Stadium. CSK beat Punjab Kings by six wickets with 26 balls still remaining. Deepak Chahar was the top asset of the match as he picked four wickets. MS Dhoni who was playing his 200th match for CSK invited PBKS to bat first. CSK bowlers restricted PBKS to 106 runs courtesy of Chahar’s bowling figure of 4-13-4.

During the Punjab Kings batting, Dhoni and Deepak shared a light moment. Deepak appealed for an LBW in his 3rd over. However, Umpire denied giving the batsman out. Then, the excited Chahar went to Dhoni to take DRS. However, Dhoni completely neglected his appeal.
A Dominated Bowling performance by CSK Led by Deepak Chahar
Chennai Super Kings bowlers came out strongly and knocked out the top order of Punjab Kings. Chahar first knocked out Mayank Aggarwal’s stump with a peach of delivery in his first over. Ravindra Jadeja’s electric fielding ends KL Rahul’s inning. Jadeja had one stump to aim and he hit the bulls-eye. Chahar deceived Chris Gayle with a knuckleball. Gayle sliced the slow delivery to the right of the backward point, where Ravindra Jadeja took a stunning catch.
Deepak picked his third wicket as he removed Nichols Pooran on a well-directed short ball. Nicholas Pooran played a pull shot and holed out to the third man. Pooran failed to open his account in two successive matches. Deepak Chahar broke PBKS’s batting as he picked his fourth wicket. This time Deepak Hood chipped a dolly to Du Plessis at mid-off. Inside 7 overs, Kings Punjab’s half side went back into the dugout and the score was 26/5.
Shahrukh Khan with the company with Jhye Richardson started the rescue process. However, the inning of Jhye Richardson could not last long as he was cleaned bowled by Moeen Ali. Shahrukh Khan was the lone warrior for the Punjab Kings. Shahrukh Khan scored 47 runs. CSK restricted Punjab Kings to 106/8 in their 20 overs thanks to Deepak Chahar.
Easy Chase for CSK
Chennai Super Kings got a decent start as they scored 32 runs in the powerplay. Arshdeep Singh strike first for Punjab Kings. Ruturaj Gaikwad who was struggling for timing holed out to Deepak Hooda at square leg. Arshdeep Singh bowled a shortish ball and Ruturaj got no timing on it. Moeen Ali joined forces with Faf du Plessis. Both open the tap of runs and boundaries were flowing. They added 66 runs before Moeen Ali caught at deep. Murugan Ashwin picked the wicket of Moeen. He scored 46 runs.
However, after that Suresh Raina and Ambati Rayadu got out cheaply in an attempt to play glory shots. CSK chase down the target in 15.4 with six wickets in their hand. Faf remains unbeaten at 36 runs. (source)
