The national crush of India, Smriti, was born in a Marwari family on July 18, 1996, in Mumbai. Later her family moved to Madhavnagar, Sangli. She got inspired by her Dad and brother to play cricket and chose cricket as a career. Both her Father and Brother have represented Sangli at the district level cricket. Smriti Mandhana’s father’s name is Shrinivas Mandhana. Her brother’s name is Shravan who is a Manager in a Private Bank. At the age of nine, Smriti got picked to play for Maharashtra’s Under-15 team. In 2007, She was selected for Maharashtra’s Under-19 women’s team. She graduated from Chintaman Rao College of Commerce, Sangli with Bachelors in Commerce degree.
In 2013, Smriti Mandhana got a chance to represent India at the international level. On April 5, 2013, she made her debut in International cricket in a T20 match against Bangladesh.
