The Boxing day test match between India and Australia is set for a mouth-watering clash, as India will try to bounce back under the captaincy of Ajinkya Rahane, While Australia will try to repeat the same performance as they did in the first test. The loss in the first match and injury forced India to make a couple of changes in their playing eleven on the Boxing Test match.

Indian Test squad sees major changes for the Boxing Day match
As per the playing XI announced by Indian Team on December 26, Shubman Gill and Mohammed Siraj will make their debut in the Boxing day Test match. Shubman is in place of Prithvi Shaw who was out of touch in 1st Match. Shaw scored 0 and 4 in his inning. Shubman Gill had made his ODI debut last year against New Zealand on January 31. He has played three ODI matches so far and scored 49 runs with an average of 16.33.
While Siraj is in for injured Mohammed Shami. Mohammed Siraj made his ODI debut against Australia in 2019. Siraj will make his debut against Australia too. Both debutants had already made a debut in shorter formats. This is a rare occasion where two Indians making their debut in a Test match.
When was the last time two Indian players made their Test debuts together?
The last instance of two Indian players making their Test debuts in the same match was in November 2013 against West Indies. Rohit Sharma and Mohammed Shami had debut together. In the debut match, Rohit Sharma scored 177 runs with the help of 23 fours and 1 six. Like Rohit Sharma, Mohammed Shami also had a Test debut to remember. Mohammed Shami finished as India’s most successful bowler, picking up 4 for 71 in the first innings.
